Unc0ver iOS 12.4 Jailbreak

If you are still running iOS 12.4.1 on your iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, or the iPhone XR in hopes of a jailbreak, your patience has finally been rewarded. There’s a new Unc0ver 3.8.0 beta 1 release out today that supports jailbreaking iOS 12.4.1.

Apart from supporting older iPhones and iPads, unc0ver 3.8.0 b1 also supports iPhones with an A12 chipset which includes the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and the iPhone XR. At the moment, iPads with an A12 chipset are not supported.

All older iPhones and iPads that were previously supported by Unc0ver can also be jailbroken if they are running iOS 12.4.1.

Most users of older iPhones are not really going to care about iOS 12.4.1 being jailbreakable now since there is already a jailbreaking tool available for iOS 13. However, checkra1n only supports iPhones and iPads launched until the iPhone X which means iPhone XS/XR owners cannot jailbreak their device running iOS 13.

If you have already updated your iPhone to iOS 13, you cannot downgrade back to iOS 12.4.1 to jailbreak it. In such a scenario, you are stuck on whatever iOS 13 build your device is running.

Do note that due to an ongoing issue with Cydia Impactor, you will need to have access to a Mac with Xcode to sideload the latest release of Unc0ver. What you can do is go ahead and install the app from ignition.fun or other popular online app signing services and then proceed to jailbreak your iPhone or iPad.
