During Apple’s keynote unveiling the new MacBook Pro lineup, one of the new features it quickly brushed over was the speaker system built into the device.

Apple did mention that the new design was meant to “maximize air displacement,” and that the new speaker setup is connected directly to the system power, which, in turn, makes it possible to get three times more peak power. As a result of all those changes, the built-in speaker system in the new MacBook Pro lineup offers 58 percent louder volume.

And for bass enthusiasts, the new speaker system is 2-and-a-half-times louder in the bass department.

Apple says that the new speaker system is also built to promote even better dynamic range, but how that breaks down in percentages hasn’t been divulged by the company at this point. As noted by Apple Insider, the changes that Apple has implemented should make the new speaker system able to reach higher highs and lower lows, without distortion.
